  1. 1.NSW built the first railway in Sydney but because of a number of setbacks,the first public Australian railway line didn't open until 1854 in Melbourne.
    2.The first paddle steamer was introdused into NSW and only useful where there was a waterway along on which it could travle.
    3.One in four Australians owned a moter vehical,with half of the market owning Holden's.

    1. Buss now run on fuel but in the olden days they used clydsdale & carriages.
    2.The electric train runs on electric but the stem train runs on burnt coal & water.
    3.in the olden days the city cat was smaller but the city cat now is biger.

  4. 1. In the 1850,s they used steam to power trains. Today we use electricity to power our trains.
    2. In the 1700 and 1800,s we travelled around in carts pulled by horses. Today we get around in cars.
    3. In 1960 one in four Australians owned a motor vehicle. Today there might be three or four cars per house.

  5. 1. The first bicycle introduced in Australia in 1860 had the front wheel bigger than the back and now both wheels are the same size.
    2.The ferries from 1880 were run on steam and were very slow. Now Brisbane has City Cats which are run on petrol and are much quicker.
    3.Trams used to run on steam and would transport people. Now trams run on electricity and are used in Australia in Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Sydney and Adelaide.

  6. 1. In 1853, the Cobb and Co carriages were used for transport. Now we have buses and taxis.
    2. In 1851, steam trains were used. Now we have electric trams that go all over Australia.
    3. In 1920, Qantas started the first plane transport. Now we have jumbo jets.

  7. 1. Using a steam engine to replace animals to pull trains made it quicker to get people and things from one place to another.
    2. Qantas started using planes to take people from place to place.
    3. Australia making their own cars was a brilliant idea and made more jobs for people.

    1. Back in the 1800's they used steam powered trains. Now we use electricity powered trains.
    2. In the 1830's they had horse and carries. Now we have cars.
    3.Steam trains use to run on steam. Now trains run on electricity.

    1. In the olden days people got around with carriages that were pulled by horses, now we have cars with engines.
    2.The planes of today are much bigger and can hold more people and fly much further.
    3. Trains of today don't have steam engines as they run on electricity.

    2. The Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services (QANTAS) was founded in Winton, Queensland and became Australia s most successful Airline.
    3.The first bicycle was introduced to Australia in 1868.

  11. 1. The first QANTAS plane was built in 1920. It used to hold a few people. The QANTAS planes now hold about over a hundred people.
    2. Steam trains were built in 1851. Trains do not run on steam anymore.
    3. Cobb and Co. public transport (horse and carriage) was built in 1853. We do not use horses to power our vehicles.

    2. Trams were used by people who wanted to travel short distances.
    3. Holden has just released a new LPG (gas) car and been around since 1948.

    1. Nowadays bikes have the same size wheels and in the olden days the front wheel was bigger than the back wheel. The first bike was introduced into Australia in 1860.
    2. In the olden days carts were pulled by horses, now we have engines that power a car.
    3. Trains are now more powerful and can carry more people, in the olden days they where small and less powerful. They also carried less people.

    2. Today they have made unleaded petrol, LPG gas and electric cars to save our environment.

    1. In the olden days trains used to be powered by coal and steam, now most are run by electricity.
    2. They used to use horse and carriage but now we have cars.
    3. The boats used to have sails and oars now they have motors.

  20. 1. Steam engines was used in locomotive to pull trains more quickly along smoother, stronger tracks after having animals such as camels, pulling masses of coal from the mines.
    2. The trams were like miniature trains, with a small locomotive and one or more trailers. They were for people who were not traveling long distances.
    3. In 1901, neraly every state in Australia were 'linked' by rail and by the 1970's, the technology had improved and this ment that anyone can travel from one state to another without changing trains.

    1)Steam engines use to be used in locomotive to pull trains more quickly along smother, stronger tracks after having animals such as camels. 2) Bikes are used for transport to get around.3) Motorbikes were used for transport so people could get around faster.

    1. In 1948 cars ran on petrol then in 2012 Holden released a car that runs on LPG.
    2. The trains in 1851 had steam engines, trains now use electricity to run.
    3. Bikes were introduced in Australia in 1868 then motorbikes were invented to move faster.

    2. Boats are different because you have moates.
