  3. 1. The tradition of eating pancakes the day before lent starts was to use up the butter, fat and eggs that were forbidden during lent.
    2. Father John burned palms leaves so that we could receive the blessing on Wednesday.
    3. Our classes Lenten Promise was to give things to the poor like money, food and toys.
    4. The money we give to Project Compassion goes to poor people in other countries.
    5. I learnt that Ma and her husband went to Tutu to learn how to grown enough food to give healthy meals to their family.

  5. 1.Pancakes have butter, fat and eggs in them, they were forbidden during lent , so some people eat them before lent and then go without some foods during lent.
    2. Father John burnt Palm Leaves to make ash for the crosses on our heads on Ash Wednesday.
    3. Our class Lenten Promise if to give to the poor.
    4. The money goes to people in other countries who are poor.
    5. Even though there is enough food in the world to eat 1 in 8 people don't have enough to eat.

  6. 1. Initially Shrove Tuesday was to use up all the food that would rot away over the fasting period of Lent. The English people made pancakes with milk, fat and eggs.
    2. The palms are from last years Palm Sunday. This reminds us that Jesus died for our sin. The ashes are used for putting on your head on Ash Wednesday. They symbolise penance and death.
    3. The promise was to give canned food and items to Saint Vincent de Paul.
    4. The money we give goes to the poor in our country and other countries who need food and other items.
    5. I learnt that by giving money to Project Compassion we can teach people to farm which improves their lives.

  9. 1. People eat pancakes before Lent because it has fat, butter and eggs and you can't have fat, butter and eggs during Lent.
    2. Father John burnt palms to make ash for the next day on Ash Wednesday.
    3. To give to the poor.
    4. To help the worlds poor people get food and water.
    5. Eric and Ma learnt to grow food, raise chickens for eggs and taught their kids how to run a farm so the hole family and other people can have food.

  10. 1. People wanted to use all of the butter, milk and eggs before Lent began because you were not to eat them during Lent.
    2. Father John burnt the palms to make ashes for the next day to make a sign of the cross on our head.
    3.To give the poor people cans of food and toys.

    5. Project Compassion helps people from all different countries to help make it a fair world.

    2.The next day was Ash Wednesday and we received a cross on our forehead with the ashes.

    5.That we should give money to Project Compassion so they have enough food.

    2. Father john burned the palms for Ash Wednesday.
    3. Our Lenten Promise is to give what we can to the poor.
    4. The project compassion money goes to Caritas Australia for the poor people.
    5. Caritas Australia and Tutu teach people food for life. They teach them to grow, cook, sell and buy healthy food and animals like chickens.
    God wants us to share what we have.
    Fiji has more than 300 Islands.

    2. Because when jesus was coming people put palm leaves down the ash is used to put a cross on our head.
    3. Give up our play time at lunch to clean the environment.
    4.the money goes to poor people that can't afford food.
    5. project compassion help people learn how to grow healthy foods and teach people how to cook and eat healthy with the food they have.
